The first three editions were published by Motte. Bathurst published the fourth edition in 1742 and the fifth in 1747. See Teerink 303. Scarce.

Some spotting on endpapers and lightly on fore-edges; dust-wrapper price-clipped; else a very good copy in a like wrapper. Loosely laid in is a twenty-two line typed letter from Gillian Avery discussing English chapbooks with a correspondant who is obviously something of an expert on the subject. The letter is dated 1992 and is siged in ink, "With love, Gill." There are some later non-relevant notes added to the blank areas of the age - and to the blank verso - presumably by the recipient.
