First privately printed edition, limited to 350 copies, of which numbers 1 -250 were presented by George Rainbird and Ruari Mclean, and numbers 251 to 350 were for the use of Edward Bawden at Christmas 1952. This copy is inscribed on the front cover from Edward Bawden and his wife Charlotte, ‘Best wishes from C. & E. B. 1952.’ An excellent copy of a rare book. Take The Broom is one of six tales drawn in this size by Bawden for his children, Richard and Joanna, during 1944. The book was redrawn on lithographic plates by Edward Bawden at the request of George Rainbird and Ruari McLean.
