[THE INFANT’S CABINET OF FLOWERS.] A HISTORY OF FLOWERS.

London: Printed and Sold by John Marshall, No. 4. Aldermary Church Yard, Bow Lane, No date. [circa 1801]. Volume II only. 30, [2] pages. Original decorative paper-covered boards with shaped paper title labels to each panel. 47 x 39 mm. Boards a little rubbed, miniature bookplate; else very good. This volume [together with volume I] once accompanied 28 hand-coloured engraved cards, all contained in a small wooden box with a pictorial sliding lid. The set was one of approximately a dozen such offerings by Marshall, including Cries of London; Shells; Trades, Fruits, etc. All are rare. Quite often the sets lack some of the cards and one or both miniature books. See Alderson, Miniature Libraries for the Young.
