The half-title bears the ownership inscription of Emma A. G. Davenport. This is probably Emma Anne Georgiana Davenport (1819-1910) who was a British children's novelist. She is best known for her works published in the catalogue of New and Popular Works Principally for Young Persons by Griffith and Farran, which includes Fickle Flora and Her Friends (1863) and Our Birthdays and How to Improve Them (1881).
