THE TALE OF JOHNNY TOWN-MOUSE.
London: Frederick Warne and Co, No date. (1918.). Original grey boards with mounted illustration. First edition; first issue, but with the 'N' in London. A near fine copy. The title-page of this work is undated, but a First Edition of December 1918 can be determined by the absence of “Ltd” from Warne’s imprint on the title-page. The second printing was issued in June 1919, when Ltd was added to the imprint. Much is made of the missing 'N' from London that some copies have. Clearly, this printing error does not constitute a separate edition, it merely indicates that a number of the first printing escaped from the press before the error was spotted.
