Dodgson's use of the pseudonym 'Lewis Carroll' is here used for the first time (Solitude). Volume 2 contains a further three pieces by Carroll: 'Novelty and Romancement. A broken Spell.' 'Upon the lonely moor.' 'The three Voices.' Volume 3 contains 'The Sailor's Wife.' And Volume 4 the famous 'Hiawatha Photographing.'
