A prospectus or advertising notice, dated August 15th 1794, announcing the publication of the fourth volume of Hasted’s History of Kent. The quarto sized sheet (240 x 180 mm) has fold marks and was sent through the post to John Latham of Dartford, Kent. It still bears the postmark and the remains for wax used for sealing the letter. Scarce. John Latham, known as the ‘grandfather of Australian ornithology,’ was the author of ‘A General History of Birds,’ published between 1821 and 1828, in eleven volumes.
