London: Printed and sold by John Marshall. No. 4 Aldermary Church Yard, No date [circa 1800]. 32 pages. Illustrated with 13 full-page engravings of girls at play. Original paper-covered pink boards with shaped title labels to both boards. 61 x 48 mm. Spine expertly restored; a previous owner has written ‘No. 13’ on the front board; else a very good, clean, crisp copy. The Infant’s Library, first published in 1800, consisted of a wooden box with a sliding front, designed to resemble a bookcase with glazed doors. The inside, lined with pink paper, was divided into four; each compartment containing four miniature books, making a total of sixteen.
