Binding rubbed and worn with some loss to the lower outer corners; two small losses from the lower panel; light foxing to the endpapers and half-title; else a very good and clean copy. First edition of Lear’s second nonsense book, containing the first U.K. printing of, The Owl and the Pussycat, and the first printing anywhere of The Jumblies. Copies are rarely found in their original bindings which was by the ‘perfect’ or gutta-percha method.
