Complete with 52 engravings of views, plans, pedigrees, maps etc., as listed; though some are bound out of order. Contemporary full calf, sometime re-backed and re-labelled. 271 x 222 mm. First edition. Some browning and foxing, but not as anywhere near as severe as is often the case; inner joints repaired. A very good copy of this scarce history, complete with half-title; the preliminary subscribers’ list, which was often discarded when bound, and the ‘Erratum’ pasted to the blank verso of the title. This copy bears the bookplates of William Boys, and that of Sir Thomas Colyer Colyer-Fergussan, Baronet of Ightham Mote.
