First published as a play in 1939 – this, presumably a later printing. Loosely laid in is a four-page programme of the production put on by the Dover Players. Also there are two letters from the producer, Janet Young, to a Mr Pain, negotiating with him to play the part of Giles Lacy. However the printed cast list shows the Producer's husband, Malcolm Young, as playing the part. Spine a little worn, and the programme also to the outer edge, else very good.

No imprint or date, but almost certainly Paris, circa 1840. A panorama of twenty three sections, twenty pages bearing hand-coloured lithographs illustrating a musical notes, time signatures, etc.; three, music scores; the twenty-fourth leaf, which is the title, is mounted, as issued on the front cover. Extended: 260 x 15 cm. Folded: 16 x 12.5 cm. Spine expertly repaired; some folds strengthened from the blank versos; else a very good copy of a rare educational piece for teaching music. The text is in both French and English. Antoine Elwart (1808-1877) was a highly successful composer who taught at the Paris Conservatoire. He received the Legion of Honour for his services to music.
