Engraved sheet, hand-coloured as issued, with a vignette of the 'Entrance to the Devil's Cave in the Peak (near Castleton) to the lower right-hand corner, uncoloured as issued. The map is portrait: 47.5. x 37.5.cm's. Horizontal crease mark; else a very good example with excellent colouring. Very scarce. This example has been taken from at Atlas of circa 1822, and differs slightly from the early issue of the map as a single sheet, dated 1818.

The map is landscape: 36.5 x 45.5 cm's. There are five short tear in the lower edges, extending in to the map, that could be repaired; else a very good example with excellent colouring. Very scarce. This example was issued as a separate map, but some copies can but found with dated 1822, that have been taken from an atlas of that date.

London.W. Darton Junr. 1818. Engraved sheet, hand-coloured as issued, with a vignette of the Church and School House, High Ferrers, to the lower right-hand corner, uncoloured as issued. The map is landscape: 36. x 45.cm's. There are one short tear in the lower edge, and two in the upper edge, just extending in to the map, that could be repaired; small area of soiling in the upper top right corner; else a very good example with excellent colouring. Very scarce. This example was issued as a separate map, but some copies can but found with dated 1822, that have been taken from an atlas of that date.
