Running alphabets, in both upper and lower case, are present at the head and foot of the pages throughout. Little worn at fore-edges, else very good.

Some spotting on covers and lightly on title; else a very good copt of a very scarce issue of this work by Darton. Darton G352., Lilly Library being the only cited copy. Originally published by Newbery, the last recorded Carnan edition being 1787. In this version the title is slightly simplified, and the attribution to ‘John-the-Giant-Killer, Esq.,’ has been dropped. The preface is shorter and the 68 original riddles have been reduced to 29.
