This copy belonged to the mathematician Francis Maseres and bears his signature on the title-page and has numerous annotations throughout. On the title-page he has written in ink: 'The whole defence founded on the supposition that the public opinion of the whole Body of the French People is in support of the Revolution.' This copy has been trimmed at some point in its history and this has occasioned the loss of some letters of Maseres' marginal notes. Else a very good copy.

A good copy nevertheless of a very scarce book.
