VISION OF WAT TYLER.

Graham Clarke. Ebenezer Press, 1972. Published in an Edition of 75 copies of which an unspecified number were artists proofs. This issue being one of the small number issued as Artists' proofs. 16 Original Etchings, hand printed from 33 plates. Mounted on 16 loosely inserted text sheets of full imperial De Wint handmade paper. Each sheet signed in full by Clarke and designated as an Artists' proof. The first page of poetry signed by Birtwhistle. Includes a booklet containing the poet's introduction and notes, also the text of the 6 contemporary letters of John Ball 'Mad Priest of Kent', together with technical notes. These are printed on separate De Wint Sheets and loosely inserted. The whole is preserved in thick Wooden boards bound by Bert Seth in full natural, reverse hide, with endpapers by the artist. The title block is branded on the upper cover, which measures 24 x 11.25 inches. The complete book is retained in a dark brown hessian wrapper with leather ties. An excellent copy, complete with the original prospectus.
