A fine copy in a very good wrapper, that has just some light chipping to the head of the spine, and is a little creased along the top edge. Presentation copy from the author, inscribed on the front free endpaper: 'To Neville and Beatrix from Ronald June 1932.' Loosely laid in a single-page letter from the author to Beatrix, dated April 7th 1932, detailing, amongst other things, how 'the show went with great "éclat"' and was 'an unqualified success.,' and that he has 'been more or less tight ever since so no time for more as I need a Bass and they are just opening.' Tipped-in at the back of the book is a folding newspaper cutting from The Morning Post, Saturday, August 13 1932, reporting his tragic death in a car accident in France. A unique copy.This was the author's first play and it was hailed as great success when it was staged at the Wyndams Theatre in 1932.
