Original green cloth, blind stamped with title and decorations to spine. 12mo. First Edition. Boards with some fading and light staining and bumping to the extremities with splitting at inner hinges and some signatures standing a little proud; heads and tails a little pulled. Vol I has half inch split in the cloth at upper edge of spine at back board, dust-soiled endpapers and some brown stains to verso of title-page and recto of first page of Chapter I. Offset discolouration from frontispiece to title-page and some browning; this occurs in all three vols. Vol I has a small tape repair to the margin of one leaf, and a small bookseller's stamp to end paste-down. All three vols have ownership names. Vol I also has some child-like writing on front end paste-down. Small tear to outer edge of pp 47, 48. Vol II has small split of about 1/2 inch to front edge of spine and clean text and a small black mark on the title-page. Vol III has small split to front edge of spine of about 1/4 inch. A good plus set.
