PERSONAL REMINISCENCES IN BOOK-MAKING.

London.James Nisbet & Co. No date. (1893.). [vi], 238, 8pp ad's. Frontispiece and illustrated title-page. Original pictorial cloth, gilt. Octavo. First edition. There is a slight circular mark on the spine where there was once a publisher's file label; top edge a little dusty; very slight uneven fading of covers, but as this copy is from the Nisbet archive, it is in near fine condition - very bright and fresh. Loosely laid in the book is an hand-written letter from Ballantyne to his son Ted, dated 1885. The letter is creased where folded and lacks a blank piece where nothing was written, The final two lines of advice to his son read, 'There's nothing better than trying except success.'Quayle (91a).
