A PRIDE OF TERRYS.
London. Southampton.Longmans 1962. [vi], xvi, 1-412pp. 42 black & white photographic illustrations throughout including frontispiece. Original boards, gilt. Original printed dust-wrapper. Octavo. First edition. Head and heel of spine a trifle bumped; fore-edges just beginning to brown; dust-wrapper a little chipped at head and heel of spine and corners with some marking to rear panel. A very good copy with a 46 line A L S, loosely inserted, from Irene Cooper Willis to Violet Pym - whose name is on the front free endpaper - discussing and criticising, quite fiercely, Steen's book. Both Violet Pym and Irene Cooper Willis contributed biographical essays to the book 'Eddy,' a celebration of Ellen Terry's daughter, and were authorities on the Terry family.
