THE PHONOGRAPHIC PUNCH. (The Shorthand Comic.)
London.I. Pitman & Sons. 1888 - 1891. 36 issues of this illustrated monthly magazine for shorthand devotees, where all the text, excepting titles, is printed in shorthand. Being Volume 1, numbers 1 to 12; Volume 2, numbers 1 to 12; Volume 3, numbers 1 to 12. Dating from October 1888 to September 1891. The magazine was renamed ‘The Phono: Punch’ at the start of volume 2. Volume 1, number 1 lacks its wrappers, as do three issues of volume 2 and all issues of volume 3. (These would normally have been discarded when the parts were bound up.) The issues of the first volume are small octavo size, volumes two and three are nearer quarto. Some of the parts have not been opened. A few wrappers split completely at spine; the odd spot here & there; else a very good run of this rare magazine.
