The ten volumes sit on a single shelf above a small drawer containing carved bone letters of the alphabet. Each of the books, measures 9.8 x 6 cm’s. Each is bound in paper-covered boards with a printed label on the upper cover. They are: Short and Easy Rules for attaining a knowledge of English Grammar. Engraved frontispiece; 64 pages. A compendium of Simple Arithmetic. Engraved frontispiece; 64 pages. Geography and Astronomy Familiarized. Hand-coloured engraved frontispiece; 64 pages. A Familiar Introduction to Botany. 5 hand-coloured engraved plates; 63 pages. Mythology. Engraved frontispiece; 64 pages. The box other, than the original label which is rubbed and has some loss, would appear to be a facsimile; abbreviated titles have been added in ink to the paper spines; two of the books have some loss of paper to the spines; else a very good set, the books fresh and clean.
