Illustrated throughout with 49 wood-engraved emblems, and some woodcut tailpieces. Original paper-covered boards, sometime re-backed in plain paper. 190 x 112 mm. The first six pages are numbered i-vi and then [ix] x, followed by pages 11-96 - this is correct and corresponds with the British Museum copy. One leaf has a small piece missing from the blank margin where carelessly opened; pages trimmed unevenly; inner joints repaired when re-backed; small stain at the head of the top blank margin throughout; but a very good copy of a book first published in 1686, under the title, “A Book for Boys and Girls, or, Country Rhimes for Children.”
