Five leaves have been carelessly opened with resulting small loss to the blank margins; inscription on endpaper; else a very good copy of a scarce work. Toole Stott Bibliography of English Conjuring, 240. The first French edition, entitled Choix d' amusements physiques et mathématiques, was published in London in 1799. The work includes tricks with cards, magic squares, magic lanterns, feats of artificial memory, and conjuring.
