Trimmed a close to the running title in places with some loss; title-pages a little marked; small loss from two blank margins, just affecting text; else a very good set. Rare. ESTC notes two issues of this edition: one with catchword on page 15 of volume one being ‘the’; and the other, as in this copy, the catchword being, ‘colours.’ The first edition of volume I, published as being complete in itself, was first issued in 1783.
