The blank recto of the frontispiece is foxed and there are a few spots to the blank margin of the frontispiece too; there is a hand-written biographical note about the author on the front free end-paper; the front end-papers have a bookplate, a printed bookseller’s description of the book, and two newspaper cuttings concerning Millais; the rear end-papers and the ad’s have tipped-in examples of Millais work and a notice of his death. The engraved illustration before the frontispiece bears Millais signature in full. A very good copy.
