1830. Rare untitled moveable panorama housed within a lady’s hand-held fire screen. No imprint or date, but continental, probably of German manufacture, circa 1830/35. A hand-coloured lithograph of an idyllic rural scene, mounted on a shaped piece of card, edged with gilt, and with a wooden handle, frames a hand-coloured lithographic panorama housed within rollers, and operated by two ivory knobs. The panorama shows figures walking in the grounds of large stately home or palace. The scene can be brought to life by holding the screen in front of a fire or oil lamp. Tiny corner lost from one end of the panorama. Rare.
