GREAT EXPECTATIONS. In three volumes.
London: Chapman and Hall, 1861. First edition. Volumes one and two, bear title-pages stating 'second edition' i.e. second issues; volume three bears no such statement, so it is a first issue. Recently rebound in half calf, gilt over marbled boards; the spines with gilded raised bands and gilt decoration to the panels. Bound originally without half-titles or advertisements. The occasional minor mark and sign of use; else a very good set. Volume three has the following errors which were corrected in later issues, indicating an early state: 'theres' for there's, on page 173; 'be tween' for be-tween on page 228; 'skackled' for shackled, on page 262.
