Published October 12th 1789, by E. Newbery… & J. Wallis. A hand-coloured engraved sheet depicting medallion portraits of thirty-two rulers of Rome from Romulus to Augustus Caesar, mounted on mahogany and dissected to form a teaching aid. Completed size: 40.7 x 57 cm’s. Original mahogany box with mounted pictorial label; and small chart, listing the emperors pasted to the inside of the box. The title on the dissection reads: ‘Chronological Tables of Roman History from the Foundation of the city to the Augustian Age.’ Two or three of the edge pieces have lugs lost or damaged; base of box a little loose; else an excellent example, rarely found coloured.
