Octavo. First edition. Front inner joint cracked; some light spotting; else very good. Butler was the son of Benjamin Franklin Butler, U.S. Attorney General and later Secretary of War. The author's brother was Gen. Benjamin Franklin Butler, who led the Capture of New Orleans in 1862 and ran for President in 1884.
