Instituted 14th April, 1791.' 16pp. Together with: 'Rules and Orders of the Society for the Improvement of Naval Architecture.' Instituted April the 14th, 1791. 11pp. Contemporary full calf, gilt with red label. Octavo. First edition. Binding very worn with worn corners and splitting spine; the first 30 or so pages have a tiny section of the upper blank margin nibbled away (10mm wide x 3mm deep.) - not offensive; some finger-marking; else a very good copy, the binding repairable. Bookplate of Capt. John Chesshyre Royal Navy on front fixed endpaper. Ownership inscription above: 'Capt, John Baker R.N. Deal from Capt. John Chesshyre R. N.'A scarce title, particularly so with the last two items bound in.
