Description Five volumes, each approximately 70 pages. Each illustrated with a fine engraved frontispiece and with numerous wood-engravings throughout. Each bound in paper-covered boards with shaped printed paper labels. First editions thus. Rear endpapers lacking in Plants and in Quadrupeds; some expert repairs to spines; little rubbed and worn; else an excellent set. Text taken from George Riley's Beauties of Creation, the rights of which Marshall purchased. Five of the woodcuts in volume I are signed by Bewick. The Juvenile; or Child's Library was a boxed library issued by John Marshall in 1800. It was comprised of 19 volumes plus a memorandum book, and was housed in wooden box designed to look like a bookcase. However, each of the titles could be purchased individually.
