Description A single engraved picture sheet, numbered 417, depicting the tale of Puss in Boots in six engravings with verses beneath each image. 245 x 375 mm. Imprint rather faint; slight creasing; else a very good copy. Rare. Paul Andre Basset was a Parisian print publisher, print-seller and wallpaper manufacturer, son of André. He had premises at the corner of rue St Jacques and rue des Mathurins, and was very active during the revolutionary period. He retired in 1819, but the business continued, run by various members of the family at the same address before disappearing after 1865. Basset publications are sometimes found with running numbers at top right, which presumably refer to a catalogue.
